Intraoral Examination: A small rounded vesicle was noted in the labial mucosa adjacent to tooth #12. He indicated it was painful and had been there for a few days. Gingival tissues were generally pink and stippled in the maxillary anterior regions, however there were numerous areas of gingival inflammation present in posterior and mandibular areas. Moderate to heavy calculus was visible, particularly in the mandibular anterior teeth. Generalized moderate to heavy bleeding upon probing was present with localized heavy bleeding in the mandibular anterior sextant, and the mandibular right and left posterior molars.
