The governor in your state has proposed significant budget cuts to all state programs, including corrections. However, it is well-known that the governor can be persuaded to change her mind if presented with convincing arguments, evidence, and facts—particularly along the lines of what is now known as “evidence-based practices.” What kinds of “evidence” might you use to respond to the proposed correctional budget cuts that would negatively impact your state’s community corrections programs?*** Remember that copying/pasting from any course materials (other than your own words in the Prep Guide), the internet, or using generative AI like ChatGPT to help “write” or “proofread” or “improve” your answer violates my Academic Integrity policy.
