Osmosis is the movement of wаter molecules from а solution with a high concentration of water molecules to a solution with a lower concentration of water molecules. Another way to look at this is that water moves to where there is a high solute concentration, assuming the solute is unable to move through the membrane.  This will produce osmotic pressure which develops in a system due to osmosis. The greater the possible osmotic pressure, the more likely it is that water will diffuse in that direction. Depending on the nature of a solution (hyper, hypo or isotonic) a cell placed into that solution can have various outcomes. Based on this information answer the question below.   A semipermeable membrane sac that only allows water to pass through it is filled with water and large molecules of starch.  The sac is then placed in a beaker of water.  Every 15 minutes the mass of the sac is measured for up to one hour.
