In this sectiоn yоu аre аsked tо reflect on how your beliefs hаve developed and evolved over the course of this semester.  One of the necessary ingredients of a successful democracy is an informed citizenry.  Without information, citizens cannot make responsible decisions regarding representation, legislation, and government policy.  Sometimes that information and knowledge results in one changing or altering previously held positions or beliefs.  It is very likely that through research, listening to others, and discussing, you have revised some of your earlier positions on these and other decisions. Please respond to BOTH of the following questions, 1 AND 2:  At the beginning of this class you were asked to consider where you stand on the political spectrum (liberal, moderate, conservative), identify with a political party (Democratic, Republican, Independent), and join a party caucus (Democratic or Republican). Discuss how that process felt.  Was it difficult to decide which issues you were passionate about?  Where you wanted to place yourself on the political spectrum?  Which political party you wanted to affiliate yourself with?  Was it hard to do so in a public way in front of your peers.  DISCUSS, in some detail, the questions above, as honestly as you are able.  If you could move yourself to the right (more conservative) or to the left (more liberal) would you move yourself AND would you caucus with the same political party if you had the chance to choose again?  EXPLAIN.  If you would NOT move yourself, explain, why not.  2.  What two (2) issues that we studied this year in practice debates, current issues discussions, or committee hearing debates, are you most passionate about and WHY? Explain. (Your response should demonstrate some evidence of learning more about these issues over the course of the year).   Does your position on those issues align (match) with the position of the party you have selected?  If it does, how aligned would you say you are?  If it does not, how does that square with you and your party selection?  Discuss.     Part II total words should be between 250 and 500 words.
