In the absence of SAILS accommodations, it is up to the instructor to decide whether, or to what degree, accommodation is possible and reasonable, without fundamentally altering the expectations of the course or the examination structure. Retroactive accommodation beyond a duration of one-quarter of the course is usually not reasonable. Students with a condition that qualifies for accommodation should register with Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning Services (SAILS) to have their condition recognized, and appropriate accommodations granted.
