Belоw is the gene expressiоn pаttern fоr the trаnscription fаctor, developmental control gene “meis1”.   Meis1 is involved in development and differentiation of several different tissues including the neural tube, limb buds, eye, and cranio-facial patterning. With the idea that differentiation is based on the activation / repression of different genes, describe in general terms How is meis1 able to be expressed in multiple locations, and often even at different times, during embryonic development of the same individual? How can meis1 activate different sets of genes within these distinct tissues such that they differentiate appropriately?  In otherwords, how does meis1 activate limb genes in the limbs, while it activates neural tube genes in the neural tube (but not in the limbs), etc.?
