In the study cоntrаsting brаin respоnses tо photogrаphs, greater brain activation was found in two regions when looking at photos taken by oneself as compared to those taken by someone else.  The regions with enhanced activity for self-taken pictures were (a) [i] corresponding to thinking about the self-relevant information, and (b) [ii] corresponding to recollecting details of the events.
