Fоr yоur reference, here is the Addendum tо the Syllаbus. The quiz questions follow. ADDENDUM TO SYLLABUS The first four pаges of this syllаbus contains policies that are used by all sections of MGF 1106. These policies were created by the state of Florida, the State College of Florida, and the SCF Mathematics Department. This Addendum to the Syllabus covers policies that are used by this specific section of the course according to your instructor, Dr Joni Pirnot. This online section is NOT self-paced! There are assignments due every week. The course covers five units of material, and the next unit opens immediately after the current unit closes. The Pacing Schedule lists the graded assignments along with the last day they may be submitted for a grade. (See last page of the syllabus.) HOMEWORK – 100 POINTS Doing homework is a critical part of learning mathematics. Each homework problem in MyLab Math may be attempted up to three times. The overall homework score will be synced to Canvas at the end of each unit. Please use the Pacing Schedule to stay on track and DO NOT wait until the due date to begin the homework. DISCUSSIONS & QUIZZES - 200 POINTS Students will have the opportunity to interact with classmates via the discussion board located in Canvas. The instructor will post discussion questions as a prompt. Posts will be graded based on effort and correct content. A grading rubric is in Canvas. There will be several quizzes throughout the semester, beginning with the Pre-Test. Quizzes will appear in the Canvas to-do list and will be taken by using Honorlock. (More details below.) TESTS – 500 POINTS FINAL EXAM – 200 POINTS There will be a test for each of the five units and a final exam, all taken online with the use of Honorlock. Online tests are accessed through Canvas and open at midnight after the homework for that unit closes. Tests then remain open for 48 hours and must be completed in one sitting within a time limit of one hour. (The final exam is cumulative and will have a two-hour time limit.) Tests are to be taken without the use of notes, books, phones, or any other outside/online assistance or resources. Using notes or other resources while testing is considered cheating. During the room scan portion in Honorlock before each exam, be sure to include the following: Show personal cell phone being powered off and/or set out of arm’s reach. Establish that the testing area contains only looseleaf paper, writing tools, and calculator. Hold up the looseleaf paper to demonstrate that both sides are blank. Display scientific calculator without cover. Failure to correctly complete the room scan may invalidate your score on the proctored item. After each test, students will submit a PDF of their written work to the instructor within 15 minutes of completion. In cases where written work does not match answers submitted on an exam or Honorlock flags an exam as suspicious, faculty may ask students to re-work test questions in real time.  In the event a student cannot satisfactorily reproduce the work submitted during the proctored test session, students may face sanctions for an academic integrity violation.  Sanctions may include the loss of the privilege of using Honorlock online proctoring which could result in remaining tests being proctored in person. A student's OVERALL SCORE in the class can be found by checking the Canvas gradebook.
