Son palabras que tienen un significado (meaning) completamente diferente. Son conceptos que están relacionados, pero son diferentes.  Latinoamérica es un sinónimo de América Latina. Latinoamérica es el grupo de países (countries) del continente americano en donde hablan lenguas que vienen del latín: español, portugués y francés. Latinoamérica son los países donde hablan español y países donde hablan portugués y francés. En Brasil hablan portugués y en la Guayana Francesa hablan francés. Los dos países hacen parte de Latinoamérica.   Las palabras latino o latina hacen referencia a la geografía. Los latinos son personas de Latinoamérica: las personas de Centroamérica, América del Sur, Norteamérica y el Caribe que hablan español, francés o portugués.   Hispanoamérica es el término usado para hablar de los países en el contiente americano en donde hablan español. Brasil y España no están incluidos en este grupo porque en Brasil hablan portugués y España no tiene la condición geográfica porque España está en Europa.  Las palabras hispano o hispana hacen referencia a las personas que son originarias de países donde hablan español. Las personas de Hispanoamérica y las personas de España son parte de este grupo. Los brasileros, no obstante (nevertheless), no son hispanos porque ellos no hablan español.  Pero, es importante aclarar que el término español es usado para denominar el idioma español y para hablar de la nacionalidad de las personas de España. Las personas de Hispanoamérica no son españoles aunque (although) hablan español. Las personas de Hispanoamérica tienen diferentes nacionalidades. Por ejemplo, una persona de Colombia no es española aunque (although) habla español.  Pero no sólo hay personas que hablan español en Latinoamérica y en Europa. En África hay un país donde también hablan español: Guinea Ecuatorial.  Guinea Ecuatorial es el único país del continente africano en donde el español es la lengua oficial. Es un territorio colonizado por los españoles y que adquiere su independencia en el año 1968.   Pero ¿necesitas hablar español para ser hispano? Ser hispano en EE.UU es más que hablar español. En los Estados Unidos hay más de 60 millones de personas de origen hispano. Sin embargo, el español no es el idioma oficial de los EE.UU y muchos de estos hispanos no hablan español. Ellos se identifican como hispanos porque su identidad, sus tradiciones y relaciones personales son de origen hispano. Como conclusión, puedes ser hispano si eres de España, pero no eres latinoamericano si no eres de América. Si eres de Brasil eres latino, pero no eres hispano porque los brasileros hablan portugués. Sin embargo, sí se puede ser las dos cosas, latino e hispano. Por ejemplo, si eres de México, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador o El Salvador eres latino e hispano. Pero sólo eres español si eres de España.
