EXAM PROCEDURES:During in persоn exаms, students must remоve wаtches, ID Bаdges, cell phоnes, and anything in their pockets. In addition, students are not permitted food, drinks, water bottles, or snack foods during an exam. All belongings, papers, and the aforementioned items must be placed in a bag and left at the front of the room. Additionally, during computerized or online exams, students are not permitted to have any browsers, fi les, or documents open other than the exam. These procedures are also required when students are reviewing completed exams. Any attempt to print or save an exam is prohibited. I twill be assumed a student is attempting to cheat if the student is in violation of any of the aforementioned requirements. See Section 2.7 Academic Integrity and San Jacinto College Student Handbook.

Make a good impression.  For this essay, you have 75 minutes and must use Honorlock. You may use your anthology to reference the stories from our reading list, per the Honorlock directions, but no notes, papers, or additional materials are allowed.  Write your essay directly in the provided text box. Make sure you include a works cited. For this assignment, you should respond to one of the prompts in an argument essay. Make sure you have a strong, debatable thesis; good evidence to support it (including at least one of each type of Aristotelian appeal); and a refutation placed before the conclusion (per the Classical Argument Model Outline handout from Week 2). Failure to submit your document adequately will result in a grade of zero. No assignments will be accepted after the deadline.    Choose one (1) of the following prompts and respond to it completely: 1. Discuss the pros or cons of using graphics to tell a story like Jules Feiffer uses in “Superman.” 2. Compare and contrast two of the stories on our reading list. Why might one story be better than the other?  3. Agree or disagree with the following statement: James Baldwin’s “Sonny’s Blues” is the best short story on our reading list. Explain. 4. Agree or disagree with the following statement: ENG 102 students should not be required to read short stories. Explain.  Use evidence from the stories on our list (Assignments 1 and 2).   Once your essay has been submitted, I will grade it as your final copy.
