Weаtherfоrd Cоllege Acаdemic Integrity Pоlicy Acаdemic Integrity is fundamental to the educational mission of Weatherford College and the College expects its students to maintain high standards of personal and scholarly conduct. Academic dishonesty of any kind will not be tolerated. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating on an examination or other academic work, plagiarism, collusion, and the abuse of resource materials. Any student who is demonstrated to have engaged in any of these activities will be subject to immediate disciplinary action in the following manner: First Offense: The student will fail the assignment in question and will be placed on disciplinary probation. As part of this probation, the student will be required to enroll in and complete a prescribed, one-semester ethics course in the next immediate long semester. Failure to enroll in or complete this course will result in suspension from the institution for the next long semester. Second Offense: The student will fail the course in question and will be placed on disciplinary suspension from the institution for the next long semester. Third Offense: The student will be permanently expelled from Weatherford College. A full record of all demonstrable violations of this policy will be retained in the student's disciplinary file for the length of his or her tenure at Weatherford College. The student retains the right to appeal any disciplinary action to the Student Appeals Committee. The instructor will notify the student of the report of academic dishonesty. The Dean of Student Development will notify the student of the disciplinary action. NOTE: Individual departments and/or programs may create and enforce a more stringent version of this policy as required by their disciplines and as approved by the Board of Trustees of Weatherford College.
