Describe Bandura’s idea of Social Learning Theory.  Explain the experiment he conducted that led him to these beliefs.  How is the Social Learning Theory best used in the classroom?

What is conditioning?  Fully explain classical conditioning, making to sure to include UCS, UCR, NS, CS, and CR.  How does extinction occur?

Explain Victor Vrooms’s Expectancy Theory with a description of expectancy, instrumentality, and valence.   Explain why there can be high motivation, low motivation, or no motivation in the classroom. 

What is attention?  Explain the cocktail party phenomenon.  Why might attention differ for students from various ethnic backgrounds?  How do teachers help all students remember important information and experience success in the classroom?

Explain metacognition.  How is metacognition used in the classroom?  Why might metacognition look different to students with varied abilities (special needs, English Language Learners, etc.)?

Maslow created a hierarcy of needs in a specific order.  Describe the hierarchy, including a description of deficiency needs and growth needs.  How has the hierarchy grown past the original five tiers?  Why must the deficiency needs be met before a student can experience success in the classroom?

Describe schema and share an example of one.  Describe scripts and share an example of a script.  How do schemas and scripts help when information is missing?
