Ap Computer Science Quarter 1 Terms

Truth table – Defines the function of a gate or circuit by listing all the possible input combinations and the output possibilities.
keyword – a word that has a predefined meaning in a programing language which cannot be changed
secondary storage – permanent storage and will not be deleted
Wiki – A website that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users
What is a iteration? (Logic structure) – This means looping or executing the same set of instructions a given number of times or until a specified result is obtained.
Ram (stands for) – Internal storage the holds the programs (instructions and data)
temporary holding place for data and instructions, used only while your program is running
What are two overloads for Math.abs? – Math.abs( int )
Math.abs( double )
Components of Game Theory – – players (agents who make decisions)
– actions (that players can choose)
– payoff matrix (giving utility to each player for each combination of actions by all players)
Given the following class code:public class RecurseMore{ private static int total; public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(recurse(4)); } public static int recurse(int n) { int total = 0; if (n == 0) { return 0; } else { total = 4 + recurse(n – 2); } return total; } }What values will be printed when this code is executed?
space complexity – worst-case amount of memory that an algorithm will use
rods – used to detect movement/shapes
System analysis – the study of a complex process in order to improve its efficiency
Computer Virus – programming code created as a prank or as a malicious action that secretly affects other programs and causes unwanted consequences.
The cloud – All of the things stored on servers on the Internet instead of on your computer.
What is the output from the web browser program – Displays on screen
Given the fоllоwing clаss cоde:public clаss RecurseMore{ privаte static int total; public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(recurse(4)); } public static int recurse(int n) { int total = 0; if (n == 0) { return 0; } else { total = 4 + recurse(n – 2); } return total; } }What values will be printed when this code is executed?
Arrays/Lists – A group of data that has some connection.
Which of the following is not one of the steps in the problem-solving process? – They are all the steps to the Problem solving process
PNG – Lossless files, which mean they don't loose their quality during editing
Different levels or transparency
Object Code – Also known as machine code.
Why do different objects have different functions associated with them? – Because objects have characteristics that are distinct from one another. For example, dogs can't fly so you wouldn't assign the function fly to a dog.
