After аnswering the previоus questiоns, yоu should hаve а good understanding of the age distribution of rocks in the ocean crust. The oldest rocks in the continental crust date to 4.4 billion years ago so there is a very significant difference between the oldest crust in the oceans and on the continents. What processes could account for the age patterns you see in the sea floor? (i.e. What process is happening at the rift valley that allows it to be the age you identified? What process is happening at the ocean margins, particularly around the Pacific basin, that allows it to be the age you identified? Why is the ocean crust so young when compared to the continental crust? What happened to all the old ocean crust?)
