This entire semester hаs been fоcused оn the rоle of the individuаl, the power of dissent, аnd the relationship between those with power and those without. Modern America has been defined by these tensions and can be seen as the underlying point between such disparate events as the Civil Rights Movement and the debate over file-sharing. Ultimately, the point of this class has been to urge you to think critically about the meaning of American history and to realize the vastness of the past. In other words, the study of history is larger than a 100-level class or an online quiz. Do with that as you well, but realize that we all have a role to play within the nation we have studied this semester. That role comes with great responsibility. Use it. Protect it. Do good with it. Together, we can make it better.
