Articulating the Four Characteristics of Sound First, review the sound of the instruments featured in Listening Guides 9-14 (pp. 33-42).  Then, choose one (1) to listen to again in more detail in order to describe in terms of each of the four characteristics of sound discussed in chapter 1: quality, intensity, pitch, and duration. Your answers do not need to be in complete sentences, but you should list at least one thing for each characteristic. Finally, return to the Fieldwork Discussion Board (Week 2) and find one of your peer’s instruments that you think is most similar and one instrument that is least similar to the instrument you selected above.
